New hosting provider!

This was painful! I have just finished moving all the sites to a new hosting provider.

I moved away from BlueHost (based in Utah, and part of the Endurance International Group) to a much smaller British provider, Krystal Hosting. I am pretty happy with the result so far. There have been a few technical snags, but I think I’ve got everything working, and the performance has improved significantly.

I took the opportunity to move the store, blog and wiki from subdomains (e.g. amberspyglass.co.uk/store) to directories (e.g. amberspyglass.co.uk/store). This will make my future plans easier. There are redirects from the old addresses, so all old links should continue to work. Over the next few days, I’ll comb through the existing material and update the links (e.g. from the wiki to the store).

Please let me know if you find anything that’s not working — broken links or images, missing files, server errors, that sort of thing.

Well, I’ve just noticed that the blog links don’t work anymore. On it…

Ambersoyglass sounds like a health-conscious, vegan alternative to my actual domain, but it doesn’t work nearly as well in redirects. Fixed.

Here’s a random image, to check that image insertion still works:

  1. Anyone out there assembling a V1.5 with a NEMA 23 on the X axis? And have you got to the X carriage?

The only instructions are for V1.4, and they show a NEMA 17 mounted so that the belt pulley is inside the carriage. But the NEMA 23 I have is too big to do this, and the instructions seem to require it to be mounted with the pulley OUTSIDE the carriage…
